Work at Hope Corner School

Our curriculum

Our team is passionate about helping pupils break down the barriers to their learning. We see every child as an individual with unique potential.

Experiential Learning

A key part of our curriculum involves various experiences outside the classroom.  With staff trained as instructors we are able to take part in indoor rock climbing and archery, as well as equine therapy and working at the school allotment.  Every half term our students take part in educational visits linked to their learning.  Some of our recent visits have included: Museums in Liverpool, visiting Parliament in London, Quarry Bank Mill and Jodrell Bank centre.

Nurturing Environment

All of our classes are in small groups, enabling us to focus on the specific needs of each of our students in every lesson and activity.  We take every opportunity to develop social and emotional skills throughout the whole school day, whether in planned activities focusing on these areas, in 1:1 sessions or during free time.
