Delamere Forest was the theme trip this half term, linking to learning on the novel Around the World in 80 Days. Students listened to the audiobook together over the six week half term, and in geography lessons they learnt about timezones, map features, grid references and directional language. This also linked in to maths lessons that have been completed on maps and directions.
Students put their map reading skills to the test at Delamere Forest during their orienteering activity. They successfully used compasses and an OS map to follow a route that had been planned out for them and the school dog, Noodles, accompanied them on their route.
